Ok - food ....and small-scale gardening!

I think I shall use this blog to post about my latest cooking and baking escapades! ...and also to give updates on my organic veggie and herb garden.

Food
Tonight I went to Whole Foods - while hungry....not a good idea.  :)  They do have excellent crab cakes though. haha.  I also got a very very small slice of double cream soft-ripened goat cheese which I stuffed with fresh pesto (not with basil from my garden - that's not ready yet).  Yum.

Garden
In addition to continuing to grow all my herbs and veggies from seeds, I have started a mini-compost.  I got a terra-cotta planter (short and wide sorta) and a base (which I'm using as a lid) and am attempting to create some good organic compost-y fertilizer with it for my lil garden.

Catnip is growing slower than last time but I think it'll make it. Dill is a fragile little plant - and I think Maddie (my kittie) might not be helping things.   Red bell peppers are finally sprouting now that I've stopped over-watering it - I actually had to make a chart for everything so I'd remember what plant needs what and now I have my little peat pots lined up in order of most to least watering needs.  Zucchini and Eggplant are the first to start growing real leaves (not to be confused with the cotyledon) with Tomatoes close behind.    Soon I will determine which sprouts live (the strongest after 1st leaves appear) and which will perish.

Muhahahah!

-The end
