= my gravity fed drip irrigation system ...that is sort of set up now inside since it's not time to move things out onto the balcony yet. Also - all my plants have been transplanted now. Only one didn't survive the move (one of the 2 tomato plantlets I transplanted, the other is doing great).
My cilantro and dill are still failing as are the green onions (although that might be due to transplanting) :( The cilantro seemed to be doing ok for a little bit but then pooped out on me.
My long window box with the rest of my little plantlets. On the very left will be spinach.
This looks awesome right?!? Ya that's what I thought - until I read up some more and realized that I would be drowning my plants with this many emitters (little drippers on the ends). This was also before I realized that I needed a different type of emitter that would allow for very low pressure water flow. I also got a timer for my system - the first one I bought needed at least 10psi to operate which I didn't realize I wouldn't have until after I bought it. So I bought another one online that works for me and gave the old one to my bf for his soon-to-be sprinkler in his backyard.
My silver bucket holds 5 gallons of water and outputs water through a 3/4" pipe to the timer. There is also a 1/4" silicone tube I have going up the bucket (fed from water inside) which will tell me when my water gets low (keep in mine this will be hanging up from the ceiling beams on my balcony so I won't be able to look inside the bucket).
My makeshift greenhouse in my dining room. I had to get another grow light for the square box and strawberry planter because I wanted to make sure they get enough light. I also have a couple other tiny planters - one just sprouted kale and the other has poppy seeds (courtesy of bf's mom) planted in it that I'm waiting to see sprout.
Zucchini has 4 leaves now but I accidentally snapped one of the smaller stems to a leaf tonight while moving stuff around! oops. Everything else is good! I can't wait until I can move everything out onto the balcony. :)

holy cow girl - that's one crazy set-up you have. very impressive. hope that everything will have room to grow once it starts getting bigger. we just planted two tomato plants yesterday... whoohoo!
Is it okay that I just like your title? "water and gravity." lol. I can totally imagine you saying it matter of factly, then pausing before reciting the dramatic tale of of the zucchini and it's affair with the cucumber. *gasp and sob* Neither survived! Anyway . .. you get the idea. You're hilarious lady! xoxo, me
